May 18, 2016 @ 5:52am. I switched to France (Paris) and it went smooth, and the download accelerated to 4,3 mb (it always accelerates slowly) then it dropped. One curious thing is that the download STOPS for 5-10 mins at the end (it also did the other days), so I definetely think it's not connection related.

To fix this limit problem, again go to Network Connections, right click on Local Area Connection and hit Properties. Under the Network Card Name you will see Configure. Check the picture below: After you click Configure, a new window will appear. Now select the Advanced Tab.

Had the same problem. My network server is XP machine. My new (used) laptop is Win7. The "Jumbo Packet" setting did not solve the problem. I solved it by changing the "speed/duplex" setting in the advanced tab of the XP server's network card properties to "Full Autonegotiation". It had been set on "Force 100" My speed went from about 150kB to ...

In the dialog that results, click on the Advanced tab. This is where things vary based on your network card. In the left-hand list will be a series of properties that can be adjusted. Look for a setting similar to “Speed”, or “Link”, or perhaps “Media Type”.

To see that, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings. Double-click your Ethernet adapter and see whether that shows 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps. I'm betting it's the latter if you're already getting 150 Mbps on your browser, and in that case, your bottleneck would be elsewhere.

Thanks for the help switeck, I changed my network card's link speed. It was set at Half Duplex 10.0mbps, so I changed it to "Auto Negotiate" and my connection speed went back to 100mbps. I'm not sure what happened, and what that link speed was originally set to, or if it even changed at all but as soon as I changed it to auto negotiate, the status changed to 100mbps.
