Each of the certs I've mentioned have security specialities or supplimental security training. For Cisco, it's CCSP. For Microsoft, it's MCSE: Security. LPI, Red Hat, and Sun all have security-speciality tests in regards to their certifications. That might be a place to start, then go for the in-depth security certs like CE|H, or even SSCP and CISSP.

Those who complete EC-Council’s Certified Network Defense (CND) training and certification qualify for job roles such as entry-level Network Administrators, entry-level Network Security Administrators, Data Security Analyst, Junior Network Security Engineer, Junior Network Defense Technician, Security Analyst, Security Operator, among many others.

Yes it's nice to have a certification but we all know the chance of getting a security job with the CEH + no I.T. experience = < 1%. It's like getting the Comptia Network+ and expecting to get a network engineer job, not happening.

What counts as experience? I know on the CEH website it says 2 years security experience but it doesn't say what. I signed up for more info and some CEH guy calls me and i ask him but he's like the experience should be in network security then he starts offering training. i feel like he's trying to push sells on training.

This certification will qualify you and help you to think like a hacker and look forward to securing networks, applications, and devices. CEH v10 Exam Information. Exam Name: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Exam Code: 312-50; Exam Cost: $450 (USD) Exam Schedule: 240 minutes; Number of Questions: 125; Passing score: 70%
